of the International Piano Competition Paderewski in Memoriam

1. The competition is dedicated to the Polish distinguished pianist and statesman Ignacy Jan Paderewski. The aim of the competition is to select the best young virtuoso pianists on the basis of their technical skills and artistic presentation.

2. The organizer of the Competition is the Catholic Educational Association and the Private Catholic Secondary Music School in Nowy Sącz it operates. The co-organiser of the Competition is the Malopolska Cultural Centre Sokół. Partners of the event are: Paderewski Centre in Kąśna Dolna and Polish House in Kraków.

3. The competition is intended for young pianists. Division into groups is based on the age of performers:

Category D:

Group D1 - 5-8 years

Group D2 - 9-10 years

Category C:

Group C1 - 11-13 years

Group C2 - 14-15 years

Category B:

Group B1 - 16-17 years

Group B2 - 18-20 years

Category A:

Group A1 - 21-23 years

Group A2 - 24-26 years

4.1 The programme of the competition is free, but virtuoso works will be awarded higher points. A maximum of 100 points may be obtained.

4.2 Duration of recording:

Group D1 - up to 5 min.

Group D2 - up to 7 min.

Group C1 - up to 8 min.

Group C2 - up to 10 min.

Group B1 - up to 12 min.

Group B2 - up to 15 min.

Group A1 - up to 17 min.

Group A2 - up to 20 min.

5.1 In order to qualify for the Contest, it is necessary to fill in the online application form, the statement of consent to the processing of personal data and permission to disseminate one's image for the purposes of the Contest, and the payment of the entry fee until 26 May 2021.

5.2 The competition is conducted within the framework of the statutory paid public benefit activity. Fees for the competition, i.e. reimbursement of the costs of participation in the competition. The entry fee is:

Category D - 45 Euro

Category C - 45 Euro

Category B - 60 Euro

Category A - 60 Euro

5.3 In case of resignation from the competition the fee is not refundable.

6.1 The Competition is a one-stage event.

6.2 The Competition auditions shall be judged by the Jury appointed by the Organiser. Grading is based on materials provided by participants.

6.3 The order of places shall be awarded according to the following scoring:

Grand Prix in each group 100 points;

90-99 points - 1st place;

80-90 points - 2nd place;

70-79 points - 3rd place;

60-69 points - honorable mention;

6.4 The deliberations of the Jury shall be secret and its decisions indisputable. Students, pupils or graduates of a member of the Jury will not be judged by that juror.

6.5 In each category, prizes, distinctions and a grand prix in each age group will be awarded. Grand Prix in each group:

Category A - 250 Euro

Category B - 200 Euro

Category C - 150 Euro

Category D - 100 Euro

6.6 First prize winners and Grand Prix winners shall be entitled to participate in the laureates' concerts, which shall be held in the presence of the public or in the form of recordings uploaded and disseminated on the Internet. The dates of the concerts are planned for autumn 2021.

6.7 The Jury may award non-statutory prizes, jury prizes, the prize for the best performance of a work from a given genre and musical form, and special prizes.

7. The results of the Competition shall be announced on 29 May 2021 on the website of the Competition, on the YuTube channel of the Competition and on the Facebook profile.

8.  Rules of preparing a recording.

8.1 In the recording the whole silhouette of the pianist shall be clearly visible, but each piece of the programme may be recorded separately.

8.2 The whole recording shall be placed in one file on a YouTube channel and marked as non-public, and the link to the recording shall be pasted into the application form.

8.3 The description of the video should include: the name of the competition - International Piano Competition "Paderewski in memoriam"; name and surname of the participant; competition programme (name and surname of the composer, name or title of the piece, key, if any: opus and number)

8.4 Submissions of competition recordings are accepted only in the form of a link to the YouTube platform.

9. In the event of insufficient number of participants registering by 10th of May 2021, the organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the competition and extend the deadline for submitting entries. In the event of cancellation of the competition, payments will be returned to the payers.

10. By entering the Competition, the participant grants to the Catholic Educational Association based in Nowy Sącz (unlimited in terms of quantity, time and territory)  free of charge licensce to use images, voice and expression in all known fields of exploitation, in particular to:

a) recording on or saving to any audiovisual medium, including: video media, computer disk, the Internet,

b) reproducing by any technique,

c) displaying and public performance,

d) saving them into computer memory and the multimedia network,

e) using them on websites and social media.

In accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016. (hereinafter referred to as "RODO") we inform you that:

b. You can contact the Data Protection Officer in writing or by phone via the above mentioned data.

c. The Administrator processes personal data for the following purposes:

- personal data provided in connection with participation in the Competition, in particular by the participant or his/her representative in the application, statements or later during the Competition, will be processed for the purpose of organizing and conducting the Competition, publishing information about the Competition winners and their works, in particular on the Administrator's website and in social media, as well as for accountability purposes required by the provisions of the RODO;

- archival, statistical and reporting purposes;

- promotion of the Competition;

- conducting educational activities by the Administrator;

d. Personal data will be processed and stored for the period necessary for the purposes indicated above, in particular in accordance with the criteria set out in the legislation.

e. The Administrator processes personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest, which is to enable the participants in the Competition to take part in it and to enable the Administrator to conduct it, to publish information about the winners and to archive documents, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the RODO.

f. The personal data collected for the purposes of organising and conducting the Competition and publishing information about the winners of the Competition or the components of the Competition works are also processed on the basis of the consent given, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the RODO.

g. The personal data of the winners of the Competition and their representatives as well as of the persons receiving the prizes may be passed on to the founders of the prizes or to the co-organisers in order to fulfil the formal requirements related to the receipt of the prizes or within the framework of cooperation with other institutions and persons in order to evaluate the competition works.

h. Personal data may be disclosed to entities authorised by law and to entities which provide the Administrator with services necessary for the execution of the Competition, in particular IT and financial services, as well as to entities and persons cooperating in the execution of the Competition, including co-organisers of the Competition and the Jury.

i. Participants in the Competition have the right to access the content of their data and to correct, transfer, object and withdraw their consent for personal data processing given to us.

j. The provision of personal data is voluntary, but necessary for the above mentioned purposes of data collection.

k. Sending an application to participate in the Competition is tantamount to accepting these Rules and Regulations and to the fact that the participants give their consent to the processing of their personal data under the Rules and Regulations, in particular to providing their personal data.

l. The Administrator may process data obtained in a manner other than from the data subject (data provided in the application form) through the person or entity submitting the application. In such a situation the person or entity submitting to the competition shall provide information on the processing of personal data on behalf of the Administrator.

Statements:

* I declare that I have read the Rules and Regulations of the Competition, including information on personal data processing, and that I fully understand them.

* I declare that I provide my personal data in order to participate in the Competition and to make them available to entities involved in organizing the Competition, including the Jury, the list of which can be found at www.ipcpaderewski.com

* I declare that I am legally authorised to fill an application form or to represent the participant who is a minor.

* I declare that I have the right to provide personal data of third parties in the application, e.g. the data of the participant's teacher.

* I declare that I accept the Rules and Regulations of the Competition.

* I declare that I agree for my image to be publicized in connection with my participation in the Competition in accordance with the following clause:

I, the undersigned, in connection with my participation in the Competition organised by the Catholic Educational Association based in Nowy Sącz, give my free, irrevocable consent for my image and/or voice and expression (together with my name and surname), in whole or in the form of any fragments, to be used by the Organiser, in particular in educational, promotional or documentary materials prepared by this entity, both in the form of photographs and film materials, in particular on the website and in social media operated by the Organiser. The unpaid consent referred to above refers to multiple (unlimited in terms of quantity, time and territory) use of my image, voice and expression in all known fields of exploitation, in particular to:

a) recording on or saving to any audiovisual medium, including: video media, computer disk, the Internet,

b) reproducing by any technique,

c) displaying and public performance,

d) saving them into computer memory and the multimedia network,

e) using them on websites and social media.

The Organiser has the exclusive right to decide about the form and time of using my image, voice and expression, the right to juxtapose my statement with other works, to shorten it, to make changes – within the fields of exploitation listed above, which is subject to respect for my personal rights. The Organiser has the right to transfer all rights resulting from this statement to third parties. I also declare that I have read the entirety of the above consent and fully understand it.

Participate in the Competition

In order to participate, it is necessary to fill in the application form with a link to the recording and to pay the competition fee.
